Barnes - Addition

The home was originally planned to have a garage, but was built without... when winter is coming and you have loads and loads of cars, what do you do? Well, you build a 29 x 26 two story garage with master suite above... that's what you do. Two bays accessible from the rear yard, two from the front and a large footprint allows for some great garage space. The room above will also be huge, but not finished in the first phase of the project. With the unfinished space that is already over the breeze way. Later this will allow for a 1200ft master suite... ooooh I wished I had one.

Day 3 - First you dig a big hole...

Day 9 - Boy its slow in the cold, but we have the footings finished and backfilled. We are setting forms today and plan to pour before the next cold snap.

Day 11 - The hole is starting to fill up... first the forms then the concrete.

Day 15 - The foundation is complete, now comes all the wood and nails.

Day 18 - The first floor is done... be so nice to have a roof before the next arctic blast.

Day 23 - The roof is almost on... if we can keep the tarp on today in the wind it will all stay dry.

Day 23 - If it wasn't for the darn wind we would be a little further along and actually have house wrap and shingles... if you see any around Sutton, can I have it back please?

Day 35 - Inside and outside half done... darn windows, darn cold... wish we could get something finished<./td>

Day 36 - What is the point of building a huge garage if the car is way too small? Needs a truck.

Day 41 - I have two barns that are both bigger... I have bigger things that go in them, but ooooh I have garage envy... its upstairs and down stairs and if he had a car elevator I would have to kill him. Its huge.... you can turn his car around in it. Oh by the way, you actually can but don't tell him.

Day 46 - Electrical is complete, almost the same for the outside... just drywall and on to next project.

Day 50 - Plaster is finished, outside can get as wet as it wants, watch me care as we trim the windows in the dry.
